Our Clubs
- Book Club:
- Join us for our monthly Book Club where you will experience fun conversation, great food and refreshments! We usually plan our books a few months ahead of time and rotate meetings at members homes. If you have not read the book, you are welcome to come anyway. It's a great way to get to know many other moms and to have a fun night out!
- Craft Club:
- The time has arrived for you to come out and show your creative side! Our Craft Club meets once a month. You can either bring what you are currently working on or our Craft Club Coordinator will have a craft idea that you can make and take home with you. This is a great time to unwind and to mingle with other moms!
- Movie Club:
- Are you a movie lover? A film buff? A flick catcher? Would you like a great excuse to get out of the house? Then this new club is for you!The club meets once a month at the Showplace Theaters in Schererville. This club is very flexible, we do not take role call. You come when you can to see the movies you want!
- HOOT 'n HOWL:
- It's an acronym that stands for Husbands Out Of Town and Husbands Out Working Late. Hoot 'n Howl is essentially a late afternoon/early evening playgroup, around 4-5 PM so that kids and moms can get together and have a potluck dinner or just a brown bag dinner...whichever is easier. Hoot 'n Howl will break up the evening routine a bit when the hubby is out of town or working late. A late afternoon/early evening playdate works well for some working moms too! The moms get out of cooking for a night and the kids get a chance to run around and burn off energy in that late afternoon crazy time. In addition, dads get to work late without guilt too - everyone wins!
- Children's Book Club:
- Two members host a Children's Book Club at their homes for moms and children to listen to stories and to play.
Seasoned Mom Group
While a majority of our chapter members are wrestling with weaning, potty training and how to keep romance alive, some members are navigating the waters of school, puberty, and teaching their children how to live independently and responsibly.
We are calling on these moms to get together both socially during the day and/or for discussion groups in the evening. We are hoping this chapter will hold events that our Seasoned Moms are interested in and, during school vacations, plans events that older kids find interesting. Open to all members regardless of the age of their children.
Family Support
Caring Committee: When a new baby is born, mom is sick, there has been a death in the family or a child has been hospitalized, we bring meals or provide services that will help the mom get through this period of time.
